One Liner 8

Today is a good day.. not because something good happen early in the morning but because today is friday. Last day of work! wooooohooooo!

This past weeks have been toxic, voluminous paper works from school and in the office. Although I still have classes tommorrow saturday from 1pm to 7pm, I need a breather from work-office-home routine.

Timely one liner for me; Get outside everyday. Miracles are waiting everywhere.

Always choose life.

Just recently, typhoon Frank hit the Philippines and a passenger ship sank in the Visayas. When people first heard of this, I was surprised since the typhoon was already spotted 2 days before the tragedy happened. What else could I think but blame the captain and the owner of the sea liner. Greed again was the culprit. With more than 800 passengers, why would the captain of the ship would still set sail against a “male-named” (meaning the storm was very strong) typhoon. I just wish people would think more of others than their selves. With just one wrong decision, more than 800 lives is the trade-off.

Now the government officials are thinking to never let any ship sail whenever there is a storm. More than the popularity contest; public officials should do what they are supposed to do, serve the public interest. How many laws are passed each year for the safety and welfare of the people? How do they implement the laws? (Considering they are implementing the law)
We all know officials are corrupt but isn’t there a limit to their corruption? "Moderate your greed", quoted from a witness.

This Tuesday I was writing a blog about how awkward it is when you are used to having chaotic working environment then suddenly the turmoil stops. True as it has been, since yesterday (Wednesday) it was like an outpouring of my boss’s anguish. It was as if she was counting all the free hours I had, then got it back from me in just one blow. Although that is an exaggeration, (wink) I’ve had worse. Everything is harder when it’s new. I had been working for 3 years and I got used to my work now.

While I was in havoc yesterday, and I was fast losing all my patience I remember an advice I usually give to my officemates. Happiness is a choice. I took a couple of deep breaths and tried to release the negative energies I had. By lunchtime, I was having conversations with my boss and I feel good.

One-liner for all of us struggling to find peace and order: Whatever doesn’t kill you really does make you stronger.

One Liner 5: In the mood for some independence

Since last week, I have been feeling more patriotic than usual. I felt happy to see more Filipino homes and establishments displaying the Philippine flag and this makes me feel so proud to be a Filipino.

Today is the Philippine's 110th anniversary. There are many activities, even though the president advanced the "non-working holiday" to June 9 last Monday. She calls it economic holiday –this sounds like the country is so progressive huh! Anyway, before I go into politics again, and after a long rest in writing, here is my one-liner.
You can get through anything if you stay put in today.
People often panic when something goes out of plan, but the more successful ones stay calm and poised. Like our national hero Jose Rizal, he fought the enemies with a calm soul. In addition, with his wits he succeeded in inspiring more Filipinos to fight for freedom and liberty. I am not a big fan of Rizal but what he had accomplished is exceptional. If we could posses, composure like his then our country would be remarkable.
The Filipino race is exceptional, we should always be proud to be a Filipino whenever and wherever.

The one who doesn’t make mistakes take his advice from the one who does.

I was confused. Why would I ask advice from those who made mistakes? Then it occurred to me, in every mistake there is always something to learn. When we take recommendations and advices we are still making the decision. What we do with the suggestions we acquire is up to ourselves. They are just there to show us alternatives, choices that we might have overlooked.

There is no one formula on how to live our life. How we make choices is how we are defined. Making mistakes is inevitable, but how we bounce back is what really matters.

Know your choices, know the worst and best way to do a simple task and then decide “how to have it your way”.

Today is a busy day. Voluminous paper works in the office and other post-office activities, so here’s a one liner for us: Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift. Whatever life brings, don't waste it because it came from GOD.

I also got from an article from another site: Life is not earned, neither is it inherited. It is a temporary gift. Don't take it for granted, live it meaningfully. Every moment of every minute counts, your action in a moment can affect a lifetime. Don't waste precious time; it is invaluable because it cannot be replaced.Enjoy life because it's short, do things that make you happy and others too. Your experiences to a large extent define your perspective to life; so see the humor side of life.Life is precious and delicate; Handle with care. Never let anyone tell you that you can't get what you want.

This is a quote from Will Smith's "The Pursuit of Happiness" based from a true story. It’s a little dull, there’s a puny action scenes but it’s very inspirational. From the constant disappointment that Will got especially in their financials, he finally succeed and became a multi-millionaire.
At this point in my life, I am in a stage where I can say "I am ready to take the challenge! Bring it on!” The trials are bountiful and unending, but I will not go down. I will chase my dreams and I will get it.

One Liner 1

For the past month, I’ve been fascinated to write. But I haven’t really found my rhythm and proper words yet. I figured maybe if I start with one liner or quotes, it would at least make me better. I started this practice from my wordpress blog: http://lorbiemarjorie.wordpress.com/

Restating my first published one liner there,
However good or bad the situation is it will change.
